Josie Smith

Josie Smith woke up one Monday morning in 2012 and had a dialogue with herself: "Hey, you. Stop being a putz and saying you can't ride a bike. You haven't even tried riding for a long time. Stop questioning your capabilities and just try it!" Since that day Josie's life changed drastically. All for the better! She fell in love with cycling and through cycling it made her realize things in life had to change. A relationship ended and surprisingly, a new one began! She found a life partner who loved to ride bikes just as much as she did! She started blogging: Josie's Bike Life and now she works at her partner's bike shop, Decorah Bicycles ☺

Reunited and it feels so good! 🦄 I had hoped to ride after we came back from vacation, but it was seriously delayed. I was fatigued. Then #bikeshoplife hit full force and I had a pain flare (neck/shoulder) My right thumb also hurts, making it challenging to feel comfortable and keep control of my bike. To say this ride was discomfort-free won't happen. I rode hard when I wanted, took it easy when necessary, and stopped to pick up a Blue Jay feather, and ate a snack. All of this keeps hitting home that racing will be something that I will take a break from. I need to be able to enjoy the ride as much as possible, and I am finding that it's not always easy to keep my body in check. It drains me, makes me feel discouraged, and is frustrating. I felt (even with discomfort) super content and grateful. I missed riding. I missed my bike. The outdoors. All of it. #whatsworthit #fearlesswomenofdirt #iamspecialized_wmn #thisisgoingtobeepic #sworksepic #shredly #shredlyadventures #iamspecialized
